The FOCUS Credo is in most parts, what we are every day. But it is also – what we aspire to be. It is also a call out to all those “awesome” people out there who think on broadly similar lines – and are still searching for a place to “arrive” at! Have a quick dekko at our culture deck and our own FOCUS anthem, to get a sense of what it is – to be a part of our team.
THE FOCUS LIFEWe are not the typical company – we never want to be. We are collegial, we are informal, we don’t believe in designations or hierarchies, we laugh a lot & yet we are intense and passionate to the core. Here are a few elements of the FOCUS Life:
THE KGB INITIATIVE
Sounds sinister – but is hugely developmental. KGB stands for Keep Growing Buddy - A monthly cadence of reading books, writing blogs & doing internal knowledge sharing sessions by everyone in the team!
We appreciate that our work needs as much collaboration as it does introspection too. So employees are free to take one day as a Work-From-Home, in consultation with their teams.
An obsession for Feedback on everything we do – we call it Feed Forward though! We do it after every workshop, we do it for everyone every year ….. and we don’t hold back, if we think it is needed in between too! Ouch!
LEARN & EARN
Every single person is encouraged to do his/her MBA – not to get a fancy degree – but because we believe it opens up one’s thinking about the world. That’s not all – you get a hefty bonus for doing that too! Yes, you can earn while you learn!
We are big believers that books are the cheapest & easiest way for individuals and hence the organization to grow. So, anyone wanting to buy ANY book to learn can just go ahead without any prior approvals. All we ask is – do share the knowledge!
Our own internal FOCUS University – no sprawling campuses … yet, but it is our way to ensure that all our people are continuously growing in the FOCUS Way of delivering workshops – and also getting external perspectives!
THE MENTOS CHALLENGE
Our own fun hackathon day for bringing in the new ideas on the table
A Facilitator who loves to read, write and inspire people. Has written 4 books so far – also finds time to pursue Yoga, his own blog & go in as a freelance speaker
Loves web designing and tinkering around the net. Is passionate about bringing in new technologies. He runs his own website (www.iamprabhjot.com) on the side.
Co-Facilitator with us. Super passionate about bikes & travelling – finds time to indulge in his passion every week – all this along with his job at FOCUS.
Is a Facilitator with us. Fitness maniac – Marathon runner – does all that along with his day job here with us. And motivates all the rest of us too!
We believe that celebrations and rituals are not about the event. They’re about touching the hearts and souls of individuals. And so, we look for excuses to celebrate.
